The band was formed in 2013 by Drummer, Percussionist Dave Tyas. The SK2 Jazz Orchestra perform the Stan Kenton repertoire at jazz concerts and festivals up and down the country and perform a wide variety of arrangements from 1949-79 with charts from Stan's staff arrangers including:

Over the past few years, we have played live at numerous concerts and festivals. The SK2 Jazz Orchestra were received with great acclaim when we played concerts at the 2014 and 2016 Wigan International Jazz Festival and also at Scarborough Jazz Festival.
